UNISEARCH ASSOCIATES is the only company that offers all three spectroscopic methods for monitoring gases for environmental, continuous emission and process control applications. Spectroscopic methods provide the best method for identifying and quantifying a variety of gases with a minimum of interferences from other gases and particles.The LasIR, based on our TDLAS technology, is the method of choice where sensitivity, freedom from interference and fast response time is required. It can measure a se-lected number of important gases at parts per billion concentrations in times less than one second. Up to 200 gases can be measured at the same time. It is particularly suited to measurements of hydrocarbons and organic gases. Systems are available for (1) extractive process or stack monitoring (2) open path systems for fence-line monitoring and (mobile laboratories for ambient air monitoring. The system is configured for long path measurements suitable for fence-line/perimeter, fugitive and ambient air monitoring. The system was licenced by UNISEARCH ASSOCIATES to Thermo Environmental Instruments who manufacture and market the instrument. principle of operation
the lasir is based on the absorption of light in the near infrared region of the spectrum. what is unique to the lasir is its very special light source, called a tunable diode laser. these tiny devices are similar to the solid state lasers used in ecommunication and in consumer products such as laser printers and compact disc players. laser diodes can be se-lected which are unique to a particular gas ensuring that the measurement is free from interferences from any other gas or particle.
